John J. McHale is the Managing Partner and co-founder of 1858 Haven Private Wealth - established in 2023 in Alpharetta, GA. John began his career at Dean Witter in 1994. In 2001, he founded The McHale Financial Group, leading a four-member team for over two decades, all of whom remain with him today. Now, John brings nearly 30 years in Wealth Management experience to his work at 1858 Haven Private Wealth.

As a Private Investment Management (PIM) portfolio manager, John specializes in customized investment solutions tailored to his clients' specific goals. His extensive experience and dedication to personalized service have solidified his reputation for reliability and insight in the industry.

Outside of work, John enjoys spending time with his wife, Kelley, and their six children. They love traveling and serving their local community together. John has also coached his children in sports, with a particular passion for football and lacrosse. They are parishioners of St. Brigid Catholic Church.

Andre Shane Van Horn, Managing Partner, provides comprehensive planning services to a select group of clients, specifically executives, business owners and retirees. His areas of expertise include retirement income planning, education planning, trust and estate planning strategies, and tax planning strategies. His unique goal-focused, financial planning driven approach helps his clients spend their time on what matters most to them. 

In addition to 25-years of career experience, Shane has held the designation of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER since 2005, which underscores his commitment to maintaining the highest professional standards in investment planning. Furthermore, he has been Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC) since 2005, indicating his expertise in retirement planning. 

Shane’s impressive career history includes successfully guiding his clients through significant markets events such as the dot-com bubble, the global financial crisis, and the market turmoil caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. He prides himself on preventing his clients from making costly mistakes during these challenging times, thereby safeguarding their financial goals, and helping them stay on track to achieve their objectives. 

After 24-years with two Wall Street firms, Shane cofounded 1858 Haven Private Wealth which is affiliated with Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network.  This allows Shane to offer a wide range of financial services while maintaining the independence and flexibility to cater to his clients’ specific needs. 

Shane earned his Bachelor of Science degree from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA where he was a scholarship, student-athlete. He lives in downtown Alpharetta with his wife Kate and is the proud dad of Cailin and Erin.

David “Tony” Van Horn, Executive Vice President, entered the Financial Services profession in 2008 after a successful 14-year career as a High School Teacher/Coach. He prides himself on his outstanding work ethic and high level of service that he provides to his valued clients and their families. Working with a diverse network of clients including Business owners, executives, retirees, and professional/college athletes (NIL) he strives to provide comprehensive financial advice through holistic wealth planning. Utilizing a goal focused, planning driven approach to help his clients achieve their Families most cherished financial goals is paramount to his client focused practice.

After 15 years with two Wall Street firms, Tony helped to co-found and transition his business to 1858 Haven Private Wealth which is affiliated with Wells Fargo Financial Advisors Network. Tony earned his Bachelor of Science degree from The Ohio State University where he was a scholarship, student-athlete. Tony attends Browns Bridge Church and proudly supports The Fellowship of Christian Athletes for Georgia Wrestling. He lives in Cumming, Ga with his wife Kelley and is the proud Father of Kylie (Clemson University ’21) and Ashton who attends the University of Georgia.

In 2006, I completed a rigorous two-year course at Wharton Business school, which is affiliated with the Investment Management Consultants Association. Through this program, I earned the highly respected certification of Certified Investment Management Analyst, CIMA^®.

Kiki began working with Shane Van Horn in 2002 and Tony Van Horn in 2008.
